Natasha Bedingfield Lends Voice to Disney’s “The Pirate Fairy” (2014)

Disney Studios’ upcoming fairy adventure film The Pirate Fairy is all set to feature songs from award-winning pop artist Natasha Bedingfield. The movie features a smart dust-keeper fairy character by the name Zarina, whose outgoing personality asked for an equally apt soundtrack, say the filmmakers. Director Peggy Holmes says they temporarily used Natasha’s “Weightless” while working on the movie, and were so impressed by how well it resonated with Zarina’s character that they decided to keep it for the movie. The director then asked Natasha to perform the song “Who I Am” as well, which was exclusively composed for The Pirate Fairy. The track is written by Andy Dodd and Adam Watts, with Dodd, Watts and Bedingfield as its producers. “Weightless” is written by Stephen Kipner, Bedingfield, Andre Merritt and Wayne Wilkins. Singer/songwriter Natasha Bedingfield, says that she’s extremely fond of fairies and pirates, and she thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the movie, and working on songs for the same.

The voice cast of the pixie magic adventure movie includes actors like Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Lucy Liu, Tom Hiddleston, Megan Hilty, Raven-Symoné and Anjelica Huston. The movie, which is produced by Jennifer Magee-Cook, will sail through theaters on April 1, 2014.
