First Look: ‘Gambit’

The highly anticipated production of Gambit began principal photography on May 5 in London. The film stars Academy Award© winner Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), Cameron Diaz (The Green Hornet, There’s Something About Mary), Golden Globe and BAFTA award winner Alan Rickman (Harry Potter Series, Alice In Wonderland) and BAFTA award winner Sir Tom Courtenay (The Golden Compass). Golden Globe winner Stanley Tucci and Academy Award© winner Cloris Leachman have also joined the cast.

Directing the film is Michael Hoffman (The Last Station) and the screenplay is written by Academy Award© winners Joel and Ethan Coen (True Grit, No Country for Old Men). Mike Lobell (The Freshman, Honeymoon in Vegas) is producing, alongside Crime Scene Pictures partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris, who are also financing. Rizal Risjad and Philip Elway are executive producers.

Gambit is about a British art curator named Harry Deane (Colin Firth) who hatches a plan to con the richest man in England (Alan Rickman) into buying a fake Monet painting. Deane recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Cameron Diaz) to pose as the granddaughter of a man who liberated the painting in World War II. Gambit is filmed in London and New Mexico.
