Assassin’s Creed II Launch Party

You know a video game is a big deal when celebrities get together to celebrate its launch. It also doesn’t hurt to have one of the lead characters in the game played by the beautiful Kristen Bell. When you’re a celebrity and you’re in a high-profile game the only proper way to launch the game is to get together with Maxim, rent out a night club then invite your celebrity friends for cocktails and dancing. That’s exactly what Ubisoft – the developer of the highly anticipated video game Assassin’s Creed II – did to mark the occasion.

Kristen Bell – who plays Lucy Stillman in Assassin’s Creed II – looked absolutely classy wearing man-eater red lipstick and with her hair pulled back to reveal the supple lines of her neck. She wasn’t alone in looking stunning on the red carpet. She was joined by several femme fatales like Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szhor, Dancing with the Stars’ Edyta Sliwinska and CSI: Miami’s Sophia Milos. Lady killers that followed included Brothers and Sisters Gilles Marini, DwtS’s Derek Hough and Robert Kardashian.

Best friends Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth rushed over to the Maxim & Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed 2 Launch Party after celebrating a friend’s birthday. They were still wearing the pink silk flower party favors from the friend’s party. Conrad said, “What a better way to accessorize, than with a party favor!” Conrad used the flower to decorate her signature Chanel bag and Bosworth added the flower to her elegant up-do.

A celebrity’s life is all about work every minute he or she is in public. Nothing is more exemplary of that than walking the red carpet. Not only are photographers yelling your name out and blinding you with flashes, but you also have to go through several impromptu interviews, which can last for several minutes each, even when you have people waiting for you at the end of the carpet. Lauren Conrad did her best to be as patient as possible while on the red carpet and handled her interviews politely, but The Hills starlet finally rushed off to be with her boyfriend, Kyle Howard.

If there’s one thing to be said about video games, they certainly bring guys together well. Robert Kardashian and Scott Disick – the father of Kourtney Kardashian’s child – bonded over a few games of Assassin’s Creed II and Three Olives cocktails. French Adonis Gilles Marini showed up without his wife and had every female gaze looking his way. The lucky girl who got to dance with him, however, was Sophia Milos and Marini showed off what he learned from Dancing with the Stars.

Speaking of which, you can’t go to any celebrity event without running into a cast member from DwtS. Pro-snowboarder, Louie Vito, attended the Maxim & Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed 2 Launch Party and was joined by professional dancers, Edyta Sliwinska and Derek Hough, who showed off on the dance floor. Even though Louie was voted off the show he’s excited to perform on the finale before going back to Utah to train for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

From all appearances it looked like everyone enjoyed themselves and were impressed by Ubisoft’s latest offering. In Assassin’s Creed II players will once again access the memories of Desmond in order to play as one of his ancestors. This time around, the character is named Ezio and the game is set in 1486 Italy. Players will get to explore Venice, Florence and Tuscany. As an added bonus, Ezio has his own private inventor to make special gadgets for him – none other than the one and only Leonardo da Vinci. It should be an exciting time for both fans of the series and newcomers alike.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II will be available on store shelves for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on November 17.
